MATSWAPATI

Ahoy! Welcome back to my Blog! I will tell you about my experience. 27th October 2014, SMAN 3  Bandung held a festival, cultural festival named “MATSWAPATI”, at Lapangan Bali. We did a parade to start the festival. Every 10th grade must join the parade and each class must have a mascot, our mascot was Peye, Kirana and Rian. We started the parade at Jl. Bali, Jl.Belitung, Jl.Sumatra, Jl.Merdeka and back to Jl.Bali. It was kinda tiring actually, but it was fun. Matswapati is named after the king of all wayang, the traditional puppet from Indonesia.
The Stage
After that, Matswapati officially opened by our beloved Mayor, Ridwan Kamil. He introduce himself then told us his opinion about this event, he also gave the Transstudio Bandung ticket for anyone who can beat his challenge.
Then, the show is just began, there were many cultural performance such as traditional martial art and traditional song. There are a performance by SMAN 3 extracurricular such as KPA 3, TST, MK, and Vocal Group. It’s really fun to watch. But not only a performance, there are a food court named “JAJANAN” that sells traditional foods and snacks.
The event was getting crowded on the afternoon, because the performances that we wait was on the afternoon. On the afternoon, there are wayang show, I thought it’ll we boring as hell, I never been so wrong. The wayang show was very very funny, it showed us about culture nowadays, which is bad, but they showed it in a fun way. I couldn’t stop laughing at the time. Not only wayang, but on the afternoon there were a performance by Barsena, well I don’t know anything about this band but everyone told me that Barsena is very cool. Well yeah, I kinda enjoyed watching Barsena though.
The Stage on the evening
Glenn Fredly!!!!
Finally! The last performance was from GLENN FREDLY! It’s very awesome, all the crowd were singing a long. He sang a song such as Terserah, You Are My Everything, Hikayah Cinta and many more, and he sang BENTO by Iwan Fals too, he sang it to express that we, the students of SMAN 3 Bandung and the other audiences, we disagree with the result of Sidang Paripurna that we can’t choose our leader (Mayor) anymore. But unfortunately, i went home before the show is end because my brother asked me to go somewhere to eat. Well but that was enough for a day.
I really enjoyed this event, because it’s not an ordinary event, it IS NOT a music concert, it is a show, not only music but dance, martial art, dance, and food. It’s very different than any other school event. IT IS MATSWAPATI. I’m very proud to be student of SMAN 3 Bandung!

That’s all I can share with you, thank you for reading guys, see ya later ahoy!

The Lincoln Memorial

Olá! Welcome back to my blog! In this post, i want to tell you about one of amazing building, Lincoln Memorial. Well, it’s a monum

ent actually. Maybe you don’t know what is Lincoln Memorial, but you may know something famous of this monument, it’s Abraham Lincoln Statue. Still don’t know? C’mon, you must’ve seen it in “Night At The Museum 2”. Never watched it before? Well, you should! It’s a great movie by the way. But Nevermind, let’s talk about Lincoln Memorial.

The Building

On Memorial Day, May 30, 1922, the building was dedicated, 57 years after Lincoln died. About 50,000 people attended the ceremonies, including hundreds of Civil War veterans and Robert Todd Lincoln, the president's only surviving son. The main speakers were President Warren Harding, former President William Howard Taft, and Dr. Robert Moton, principal of the Tuskegee Institute, who delivered the keynote address.
The Lincoln Memorial Building
The architect was Henry Bacon , the sculptor of the primary was Daniel Chester French, and the painter of the interior murals was Jules Guerin. The classic design features 36 Doric columns outside, symbolizing the states in the Union at Lincoln's death. The building measures 204 feet long, 134 feet wide, and 99 feet tall, with 44-foot columns. It blends stone from various states: white Colorado marble for the exterior, Indiana limestone for the interior walls, pink Tennessee marble for the floor, and Alabama marble for the ceiling.

The Statue

Lincoln Statue
Daniel Chester French, the leading American sculptor of the day, created the famous statue of Lincoln which dominates the interior. The memorial plans originally specified a 12-foot bronze statue, but it proved out of scale for the huge building. The finished statue is 19 feet tall, carved of 28 blocks of white Georgia marble. French later had special lighting installed to enhance the figure. Visitors sometimes ask if the hands have special significance (such as forming the letter "A" in sign language), but there is no indication French intended it.

Directly behind the Lincoln statue you can read the words of Royal Cortissoz carved into the wall:
"IN THIS TEMPLE AS IN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE FOR WHOM HE SAVED THE UNION THE MEMORY OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN IS ENSHRINED FOREVER."

I really like the statue because it’s huge, white, and i like the way Lincoln sit. What do you think? That’s all i want to share about Lincoln Memorial and Lincoln Statue. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy it. Adiós.

Oh yeah, i really suggest you to watch Night At The Museum 2. Ciao.
